Update Apr '13: The bulb installed back in Aug lasted only 7 mos. of only intermittent use, not even daily use. So, be aware that use life is quite limited, especially compared to fluorescent.

Aug '12: The stock of incandescent bulbs that are over the next few years becoming illegal, if you will, in the US for not being energy efficient enough is quite sizable, so they should be priced to sell. What is not reasonable is how much 1000Bulbs charges in shipping and handling. I ordered just 2 bulbs but I was charged as if I had ordered up to 50 of them. That might work for wholesale to retail outlets sales, but to the majority of people who shop Amazon, final consumers?
