I know this bulb was intended for amphibious pet lovers and terrariums, but four to eight hours of light from this has saved a very important to me plant. It also serves as as a supplemental heat source if you live up north like me (the equivalent of burning three candles if you watch the gas bill). My only beef with the product is the internal ballast mechanism. It can be a little finicky after long use, and might need some fiddling to get it to "switch" correctly to MV mode.
