I purchased these to replace descendants in my RV. I am please with the bulbs; they all work, no heat and are sufficiently bright (I do a lot of reading as a student in a Master's program). I can only assume that other comments refer to the color spectrum of the bulbs and the luminous arc. These bulbs are on the blue side of the color spectrum and their luminous arc is a bit directional, but will be perpendicular to the axis of your light fixture. I don't really have much use for the UV indicator, but it is a cool novelty. They were delivered 2 days prior to the Amazon anticipated delivery date.
