My planned use for this product just didn't work out. I was trying to use this device to connect an old parallel port dongle to a Windows 7 computer running a virtual copy of Windows XP. Virtual XP (in Windows 7) doesn't support parallel ports, so I was hoping to use this device as a substitute. Unfortunately it just didn't work. I eventually installed a full copy of Windows XP under VMware running on my Windows 7 machine which does include parallel port support, so I no longer needed the device. The product probably works as it is supposed to, it just didn't solve the particular problem I was trying to solve.
