Fairly easy to install and works well. I had a little trouble pulling out the old socket (the word "press" is on the socket so I knew where to press but it required a lot of strength to press it enough to remove it...I had to get my boyfriend to do that part.) Installing the new one was super simple and something anyone can do. I changed a single wattage switch socket-lamp into a three-way pull chain lamp. Much more useful for reading by and because the lamp shade is one of those flat narrow ones I no longer have to struggle to put my hand beneath it to turn off and on the lamp...I just pull the dangling chain. Finding the sliver colored chain was a bit of a challenge....most places sell only the gold finish and I wanted silver.
