This Diablotek USB to IDE Adapter worked exactly as described and expected. A friend had a new computer and we were struggling to determine how best to get the old data off of the Windows 98 PATA/IDE drive. Flash thumb drives had not worked, the old floppy disks did not work on the the new computer, there was no writable CD or DVD on the old computer, etc. With this adapter, we connected the old IDE drive to the new computer's USB Port and quickly copied a few megabytes of data off the old hard drive onto the hard drive of the new computer.
