The original switch design for these vacuums is terrible. The internal contacts burn up and the switch starts getting flaky until it fails completely. I disassembled my original and made temporary repairs several times until I finally gave up and bought this replacement assembly. The new assembly installs easy and works great. The switch appears to be a new design, so hopefully it will last longer than the original.
