Our hanging light needed this replaced because of damage to the old after a bulb broke and couldn't be extracted. The only issue was the different style of screw included with this did not match the old one when connecting it to a metal plate which would screw onto the down rod of the fixture. The problem was solved when I noted the connection points on the porcelain were unthreaded, and the old screws would fit without a problem.
