It's a capacitor. There's not a lot more to say. I bought these to rebuild the crossovers on my KLH Model 5's (vintage, acoustic suspension speakers). I needed six caps per crossover so I was looking for something on the less expensive end. Along with Dayton these are among the more affordable audio grade caps. One could use electrolytic caps and it would have been much cheaper but these last much longer (supposedly forever). I figured I could I could spend a little more, do it once with polypropylenes and never have to bother again. I picked Solen over Dayton simply because they had the exact values I was looking for. Beware, these are quite large (but then again all polypropylenes are) and you may need to rearrange things to fit these in. I had to mount these oriented 90 degrees from the originals so I had to drill two new holes in the chassis to run the zip tie. Overall, great product!
