Ledcreelight LED E26 CREE 12w COOL White Rotundity Cree E26 (E27) LED Light 3*4w 12w Lamp Bulb 110v-265v Review

I was looking to replace some main white stage spotlights and didn't want to spend one or two hundred bucks for more Par64 Cans so I took a chance on these.

They use the standard E27 lamp socket (household light socket) and at 12 watts, the three LED elements produce a strong bright white light, sterile with a touch of what people call 'bluing" - which is exactly what I was looking for. They also make ones that have a softer hue if you don't desire the bright sterility these provide.

They work perfectly at about 1/10th the price of a new can!

I can now use the existing Par64 cans for colored RGB background lighting and scenes, and use the extremely bright inexpensive white LED lamps for spots and have money leftover. I just screwed them into older Par cans and 'whallah!'

Highly recommended but caution: The metal ribbed sides of the lamp are sharp and could easily slice or cut a finger!

MR 16 LED Light Bulb, Warm White, BMR16-12-18WW Review

I put three of these in Malibu fixtures to light some trees in my back yard. They provide a soft accent light. It's not as bright as the halogens that they replaced, but that was intended.

The light is more tightly focused than the halogens. It's certainly not a true spot light, but not a flood either. I'm going to add another fixture to each tree to compensate for the narrower beam.

Unlike most of the multi-LED MR-16 bulbs, these have a glass (or plastic?) front. Theoretically (at least) they'll last longer than the unsealed versions in my outside fixtures. All in all, I like them. Brighter and more expensive MR-16's are available, but these are certainly adequate for my needs.

Update:
Aug 30, 2010 - After a year and change, two of the bulbs are still running strong in the Malibu fixtures. A third one has had three of the LED's go out, but the other LEDs in the bulb are all shining brightly. I know that these bulbs aren't recommended for sealed outside fixtures, but so far it hasn't proved to be a problem.

I recently installed a combination ceiling fan and light in a shower stall. The problem was finding a waterproof PAR30 long-neck bulb that wouldn't overwhelm the small space. I started with a 75-watt floodlight that was so intense it actually burned my scalp. I quickly switched to a 50-watt floodlight that was still too intense. At that point I began to despair that any lower wattage sealed bulb existed. When I discovered this particular bulb on Amazon, I was ecstatic. It provides just the right amount of illumination without burning my head or exposing every flaw in the tile and grout. Just try to find a 35-watt PAR30 bulb at your local hardware store or even a specialty electrical supplier. They are obviously not widely available and I'm very pleased to have found them from an Amazon marketplace supplier. Because I fear that they will one day go out of production, I bought two. You should, too. Just one minor quibble: the shipping charges seem steep for such a small, light item.
