Belkin CAT5E X-over Cable RJ45M/RJ45M; 75 Yellow Review

My router went out one day. I am set up on the opposite side of my house with my electronics, so I decided to get a quick fix by buying a long Ethernet cable to continue getting my internet connection....while taking my time to purchase a new router. I chose a 50 foot cable, which allows me to run it under my carpet and rugs along the walls, so that foot traffic would not put the cable in danger of being stepped on. The cable works well, and I have had no problems with it thus far. I do, however, notice that the cable is not as well manufactured as the Ethernet cables that came with my router/computers. Because of this, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Firewire 800 3-PORT Pcie Rohs Review

I am a professional photographer and I need the fastest speed possible when copying huge 24meg image files from a memory card to my PC from a Firewire 800 card reader. It has been hard to achieve true 800 firewire on Windows XP. I wanted a card with good drivers and PCIe to maximize the throughput. This card by SIIG is the answer to my prayers. I have had bad experiences using "no name" cards with poor documentation and questionable drivers, but SIIG turns out to be a "real" company with solid products and well written drivers. Highly recommended.
Addendum in October 2011: Even though this particular product is no longer available, I would like to say that it is still serving me well in Windows 7. SIIG is very good at releasing updated drivers for their products and I highly recommend that you look at SIIG products first when you need to add new ports to your PC. I will use their USB 3.0 board just as soon as I get a peripheral that requires it.

Archipelago Lighting 20049 120-Volt 48-Inch Two-Lamp Strip Light with Rapid Start Ballast Review

Normally I disapprove of reviewers who rate a product based upon shipping damage, or other problems not directly related to the product, however, in the case I am breaking my own rule.

I have just received the first of two of these lights. The first was shipped by FedEx, the second will arrive by UPS. The first light was dented on both ends, with paint chipped off due to the damage. I was forced to bend everything back in place, but due to the initial damage, things are not as tight as they could be. If these lights were not destined for the garage, I would have scheduled a return.

The description indicates that the lights use ""FT34T12" bulbs. It should read "F34T12", BUT according to the sticker on the ballast, this light actually uses F32T8 bulbs. I'm glad I checked the ballast before heading to the hardware store. I would not recommend using F34T12 bulbs in this light, as you may severely shorten the lifespan of the ballast.

So, damage and incorrect information. I suppose I should have just bought some lights at the hardware store, even if they cost a bit more.

Edit: The second light arrived via UPS even more damaged than the first. It also contains a completely
different ballast from the first. This ballast WILL drive two F34T12 bulbs.

My recommendation... STAY AWAY from this product online, you never know what you're going to get,
or what condition it will be in when it arrives. Buy it in store only, if you can find it.

10 Ft Feet Sync & charging Micro USB Data Cable for Samsung Epic 4G Touch D710, Galaxy S 2, Infuse 4G, Mythic A897, Strive A687 Review

I purchased this cable, expecting it to work as an OEM one. It is VERY slow in charging the phone. While on charge, while playing the MP3 player, my battery level dropped. With the OEM, it still goes up. Either this cord is too thick, or is too long, it doesn't charge nearly as fast as an OEM (shorter) cord.

CE Compass MR16 3x1W 3W LED Warm White Spotlight Light Lamp Bulb 12V 3W Review

I ordered two of these to try in my Lowe's bought Portfolio floods. I will be ordering more today. The problem with the floods is that a bulb with more than 2 inches in height will not allow the outside protective lens and grommet to seat. This bulb does fit. It does not give as much light as the 20 watt halogens it replaced, but the light was more than sufficient to show off my garden at night. Using LED's to replace all my halogens, I have now reduced my outdoor lighting wattage from 300 watts to 120 watts.

Product Feature

• Lumens: 100
• Lasts 25,000 hours
• Color temperature: 3,000 degrees Kelvin
• Soft White
• Saves energy

Product Description

Between the reduction of energy usage and bulb replacement, this LED will save you money without compromising your lighting. This LED provides light comparable to that of a 15W incandescent bulb but uses 1/3 of the energy. Each LED produces an average of 25,000 hours of light. You will have to replace bulbs much less often, making this bulb perfect for high chandeliers and other hard-to-reach lighting units. Its color temperature of 3000 Kelvins creates a soft white color and temperature to replicate the look and feel of an incandescent bulb so will hardly notice the difference.

TCP RLDCT3W30K2 3W LED Deco White 3000 Kelvin - Candelabra, 2-Pack Review

My electrician recommended LED lights by TCP, so I bought some from another source. Those have worked flawlessly for me, and recently I decided to buy some more from Amazon.

So far I have been using these bulbs in outdoor fixtures connected to either a timer or a photo-sensor. They definitely appear to provide at least as much light as a 15W incandescent bulb would, which means I'm only using 20% of the power and getting all the light. The light appearance is 3000K, which is a very nice compromise, neither too yellow nor bluish white.

These bulbs claim to be dimmable, which may be nice for some uses. They also claim to last 28.2 years at 3 hours per day, but since I plan to have them on 12 hours per day, they should last 7 years. The incandescent bulbs in the same fixtures tended to last less than one year.

Compared to CFL bulbs, LED bulbs should perform much better at cold temperatures, use a little less energy, be instant on, last longer, and contain no mercury.

My only two complaints are:
(1) I wish they made candelabra bulbs that were 2-3 times brighter, assuming that they would still use less than 10 watts.
(2) These bulbs are too thick just above the base, which means they won't fit into either of the indoor fixtures where I'd love to use them. Therefore I caution purchasers to consider how thin a bulb is needed by their fixtures.
